General Information

myLSU Account is an account with a username and a password given to LSU Faculty, Students and Staff by the university to access LSU's Online Resources. For example, the myLSU Account is used by students to login to Moodle, which is where all information from a student's classes will be posted. (If you are an instructor this is where you will post course material and grades.)  

A typical myLSU Account is something like this:  mtiger1 

If you forget your myLSU Account, please contact the ITS Service Desk by phone at 225-578-3375 or visit one of the ITS Service Desk locations. The ITS Service Desk is located at Frey Computing Services from Monday through Friday 7am to 5pm, and also located with extended hours in LSU Library Room 141.

 

LSU Students

Account Creation

Student myLSU Accounts are automatically created when a student is admitted to LSU. Admitted students will receive their myLSU Account information via e-mail to the address provided on the application form. The initial account is setup as a forwarding e-mail account. Once the admitted student has reached a particular state in their enrollment process, an e-mail mailbox is provisioned to the student and relevant information is shared to the personal e-mail account on record.

Account Suspension/Purge

  • Admitted students who do not register for classes for the semester will have their accounts SUSPENDED and PURGED.
  • Students who miss three consecutive semesters of enrollment will have their accounts SUSPENDED and PURGED.
  • Students who graduate will retain their accounts for three consecutive major semesters (Fall and Spring) post graduation and then their accounts are SUSPENDED and PURGED.
     

LSU Faculty & Staff

Account Creation

Faculty & Staff myLSU Accounts and LSU email boxes are created upon hire by their departmental Human Resource Administrator using the enterprise Account Creation Utility.

Account Suspension/Purge

When an employee separates from the university, they receive a notification that their accounts will be suspended in 30 days. After 30 days, the LSU mailbox and domain account will be suspended. The employee's primary myLSU Account will remain active for up to 24 months to allow access to business items such as tax documents, billing statement, etc.
