Troubleshooting

Some versions of OS X may have security settings that prevent the installation of the file downloaded from Tigerware: https://support.symantec.com/us/en/article.TECH236105.html

If you get a message similar to "Please make sure latest package is downloaded to /Users/[username]/Downloads" when running the installer in step 2, close the installer. You will need to clear the special attributes on the file that causes the OS X security to block the file from running.

The easiest way to enable the installer on OS X 10.15+ is to open a Terminal window, type “xattr -rc” (do not include the quotation marks) and then drag and drop the Symantec Endpoint Protection Installer.app file into the Terminal window.

You should see a command that looks similar to this: xattr -rc /Users/username/Downloads/Symantec\ Endpoint\ Protection/Symantec\ Endpoint\ Protection\ Installer.app

Press Enter in the Terminal window to clear the flags and enable the file to run, close the Terminal window, then double click the Symantec Endpoint Protection Installer.app file to start the installation as normal. Proceed from Step 2.
